The happy family... Nicole, Raquel, Christian and Makayla.

April 1st, 2009 (no foolin’)
Aloha! It has been awhile since anything has really been done here on nesUrfari. The main reason I stopped blogging cold turkey was because of my second daughter. Well Raquel is 18 months old now and I think I have a little more freedom to start talking about New England surfing and other things that make the world go round! Before I was lucky if I could get out the door for an hour to surf… damn right I wasn’t going to waste that time on the computer!

This is a work in progress right now and I hope to give nesUrfari a jump with an AED to get the old girl up and running again. Hope to see you all soon!

sUrfari, The Journal of New England Surfing provides yankee surfers with the latest New England surfing news, photos, stories, reports, video, links and reviews. sUrfari has been New England’s source for hardcore surfing since 1996. After being laid up from an accident in Hawaii during Decemer 1995 Christian del Rosario found an old modem, got online and created his first website, sUrfari in April of 1996. With the help of a few other New England surfers also in the online community who scanned a few surf photos to get the site going, Christian plugged away here and there on other people’s computers when ever he had the chance and got sUrfari up and running. Since then Christian has been the proud owner of a Mac or two and has become a computer junky. sUrfari has taken off from there and now it’s growing bigger and bigger…

Christian del Rosario
Christian del Rosario is a surfer/photographer/webmaster based in Nantucket, Massachusetts. He grew up and learned to surf on the beaches and points of Cape Ann on the North Shore of Boston and quickly branched out to surf all around New England. He has surfed and photographed many surf spots on the East Coast, the Caribbean, Costa Rica, California and Hawaii. He has been surfing for 23 years, stand up paddle surfing for two years and has also taught countless people how to surf over the last ten years. Christian and his wife Nicole own the Nantucket based surf school and camp Nantucket sUrfari . A lover of all things ocean related, Christian is also an experienced sailor and has logged 20,000 miles offshore including a trans-Atlantic crossing, numerous trips between New England and the Caribbean and all over the East Coast.

Christian has been shooting photos sporadically for about five years, mostly on surf trips. He really started getting into photography when he got a Nikon D70 DSLR in May of 2004 and things have taken off from there. Combined with his passion for computers(Mac) and the internet as a sort of new school tool for publishing, Christian created sUrfari the Journal of New England Surfing. His work can be seen on his site nesUrfari.com and has been featured in the following:
Eastern Surf Magazine
N’East
The Surfer’s Journal

Christian is married to his lovely wife Nicole and has two little girly groms named Makayla and Raquel. Makayla surfed her first wave at 10 months with her daddy while Raquel was a year and a week old. However Raquel was out and stand up paddling with dad at 6 months…
