FOTW recycled. An oldie but goodie. This is still one of my all time favorite close up action shots. Early June about four years ago at the End of the Road. Phil Osley was out having fun and putting on a show for whoever was on the beach. I remember that there were these lefts that would peel right up onto the beach and just end. I was shooting with a 300mm and Phil got one pretty far off that he rode right up to me… this cutback was his last turn as it was like ten feet from the sand. All I remember was frantically back pedaling over the berm to try keep him in the frame while shooting his gouge on this wave.
