MUSIC REVIEW: Black Holes and Revelations (2006)
By Virgil Price

If there were a band whose songs could be more perfect to utilize in a surf video, I would not write this review. I have been following this band since the day I first heard them 4 years ago, when I mistook one of their songs for a badass Radiohead song.  Upon finding that this was a completely separate band, made up of only 3 members, I quickly began to compile as much of their stuff as I could. For a mere $9.99 on iTunes, or a $14.99 CD purchase at Sam Goody or your favorite local record store, the album, Black Holes and Revelations, would not only be awesome music to get pumped up to before a killer surf session, but also could be the quintessential addition to your music collection. For those of you who have never heard of Muse, picture Radiohead, mix in a 7ft, glassy day with your favorite board and your best friends out, add some of your favorite beers and bbq, finally, top the evening off with more booze and a tournament of foozeball, ping-pong, or pool, and the rush from that day, would pretty much define this album. It has everything all of their old recordings do, and add a touch of zest, and you get this very impressive album from a great band that is just starting to make its way into the limelight.
