Shark Week

Well it’s about that time of year again… yes it’s time for Shark Week on The Discovery Channel. It kicks off on Sunday July 30th, just in time to get all those people rushing to the beaches of America for their August vacations all paranoid about going in the water. Watch at your own peril and while you are at it you might as well throw the all time classic summer thriller, Jaws into the DVD player on one of the nights as well.

Speaking of sharks, last weekend was the Monster Shark Tournament over on Martha’s Vineyard and below there’s a shot of a thresher shark from Cape Cod’s Chris Johnson. If you haven’t already heard there was an incident over on the Cape last week involving everyones favorite shark week top predator, the great white. According to eyewitnesses a 15 foot white took down a seal about 50 feet off of Lighthouse Beach in Chatham…
